Stephen Colbert is a known “Dune” superfan so he delights in picking the brain of director Denis Villeneuve, who explains the delicate process of adapting such a far-reaching novel into a film and expresses his admiration for its star Chalamet. #Colbert #DenisVilleneuve #DUNE
using two synonyms in a row is redundant and unnecessary
ReplyTomorrow, James bond. 2 weeks later, Dune in IMAX format! Lovely time for movies
ReplyThis was a good book and I look forward to the movie, but it’s very much written for males.
ReplyDenis was being polite for it is ‘Vill-nuhv’ and not ‘Vill-nouv’.
ReplyThis guy is Santa.
ReplyThe way they did ‘The Voice’ is absolutely mindblowing. Small speakers simply cannot do it justice. It made me jump when I saw it in the theatre.
ReplyI’m rereading Dune in French right now, I feel closer to Denis this way : ))
ReplyMy favorite director at the moment. Dune is an awesome masterpiece and loved Arrival and BR2049. Villeneuve his favorite movie of all time, like me: 2001: A Space Odyssey!
ReplyOk, Denis is on track to be in the same rarified atmosphere as Kubrick. There, I said out! Discuss…
ReplyHe is one of the best directors working today, I love all of his movies. That being said, I love the original Dune and it will be hard to live up to
Replywasn’t crazy about ‘Arrival’ and ‘Bladerunner’, both looked great, tho. But I love ‘Prisoners’, it’s sooo good! He certainly knows his craft!
ReplyI’m sick of people blathering on about the “theater experience.” This is that experience: a-holes on their cellphones, people talking, $20 popcorn, not being able to pause the movie to go pee, and sticky floors you’ll need to sanitize your shoes after walking on. I have a 34″ ultrawide monitor and amazing Edifier speakers with a subwoofer so I don’t need to sit behind Chet as he explains to his date every plot twist in excruciatingly incorrect detail with a mouth full of stale nacho cheese chips, “You see the Harkonnens are from Kashyyyk and they’re mining dilithium crystals to sell to the Sleestaks, the 3%, in The Twilight Zone.”
ReplyThis may be a minority view, but even though I’m fully vaccinated, I’m still not comfortable with going to a movie theater. So, I’ll read the book and leave it at that. No doubt reading the book will make not seeing the film even more disappointing. I wish everyone good health, whatever you do.
