“Just like we deserve to be excellent, we deserve to make crap as well and everything in between.” Actor and activist Diane Guerrero talks about the need for more representation in Hollywood, the struggles she faced being separated from her immigrant parents at 14, and the way she proves her role in “Encanto” to children.

I’ve always loved John since I was a kid, and Diane is one of my favorite parts of Doom Patrol. Glad they’re out repping for La Raza.

Thanks to John Leguizamo and The Daily Show for a little Latino Love . We are stereotyped in ways that makes it difficult to earn respect in this country. As a Mexican in the United States earning a living you are expected to work long hours for little pay mechanically and be grateful for the opportunity; Because you know, “Mexicans are lazy” right? . Growing up poor & Latino Ive experienced it 1st hand. So immigrants are treated with almost no respect because of the language barrier in that regard. Flip side of that coin is the “criminal” aka “Bad Hombre” which is to be punished harshly for small offenses as to correct the “savage” behavior. Latinos are then not considered a contribution to U.S. society. Rather a problem via immigration or crime.

She should have taken the time to point out that Barack Hussein was the president who caged the most immigrant children.

Why didnt her parents come here legally? My grandparents and parents did.

At least she is going thru counseling.

The deportations have to stop! Ripping families apart and children from their parents is not the answer! All it does is destroy many lives and cause emotional trauma!

I I get what she’s saying but nowadays people just throw around words like apertheid way too casually nowadays. Was a law, state sanctioned and all to 1) Separate the natives from the white folk, 2) To oppress the natives legally

I rarely see John Leguizamo speak outside of acting roles. So this just reminded me that he had a great comedy show called “House of Buggin” that the world slept on. I hate that I never saw it in syndication back in the day. I need to find out where I can stream it
