Okay. But first we need to not have criminals. That has to happen before we don’t have people that stop criminals. Very simple.

Essa mina é pirada. Essa coisa de tirar dinheiro da polícia ou aboli-la é tão surreal quanto o ANCAP

What a beautiful mind she has! I agree abolish police… we don’t need to be policed, we need the law enforced upon us! We need, as she says to understand the behaviors, conditioning and environments that result in violence and abuse, we only need a small number of highly trained folk to respond to actual situations of violence eg mass shootings, most crimes require minds that can investigate crimes. smash the patriarchy

Pie in the sky thinking. True North thinking. Great attribute, but I fear there is a misunderstanding about the nature of what people are capable of. For better and for worse.

This sounds like cultural hegemony. Everyone must think critically all the time, and to expect that from ever person is to expect everyone to value the same things.

Interesting idea and glad to have her voice, but I disagree about getting rid of the police entirely

The way this person talks is the exact reason we can’t get real police reform. She’s a crazy person getting in the way of a real solution

So when an angry person with a gun is kicking in your door you just ask him why hes doing that and that will solve the problem or do you call 911 and hope the cops get there in time?

There’s not a cop around for miles where I live, and I don’t miss them.

Sista, I want to understand you. But you don’t make any sense in the real world. We are not just a product of nurture alone. There’s a nature to us as predators and hunters that we can’t ignore. Had to dislike the video.

Her arguments are naive and lazy. An analogy is she wants flying cars, so internal combustion vehicles are bad. There’s just too much she glosses over.

How unfortunate neither of these people are up to the task of analyzing the problem. Mostly incoherent. and what does make some sense is wrong.

I would prefer a Police Accountability Movement – ending Qualified Immunity and whatnot. No police without a viable alternative doesn’t make sense to me (maybe the video was too short for her to explain it – IDK).

This girl is an idiot, you don’t stop people from committing crimes before it happens, criminals have an “I want what you have or I need to fill this void in my life with an act of violence”. If they are willing to commit a crime once police are needed to stop them before they do it again. Police like Trevor noted are not needed for mental health, loud music ect., this is where funding for police needs to stop.

Before we go through the trouble of abolishing anything, can we just get rid of qualified immunity and ensure cops are held accountable? Let’s see if that helps.
