Elizabeth Warren launched the internet into a fanatical tizzy when she refused to appear on Fox News, which begs the question: why are Democratic candidates going on Fox News at all?

You can call fox news a hate for profit racket (it very well may be) but it’s also a bubble, a bubble that has an audience bigger than MSNBC and CNN, that audience will never here left leaning (reasonable) opinions or here the facts. Democrats not going in fox is one of the many reasons your country is divided and is moving toward nationalism and fascism, the left is constantly challenged and the right goes unopposed.

First time I’ve ever disagreed with Sam. The people that watched that Town Hall, then saw those Fox imbeciles lie about what was said are asking questions about who they believe, right now.

I’m from Canada and I get news about America through a variety of sources. I have never heard anything good about Fox News so why do people watch it? I mean is there nothing else on? Every time I hear or read the words ‘Fox News” its either hateful or depressing.

The unfortunate thing is that Fox news has a gigantic that has not only wrongly legitimized them, but also been tricked into distrusting any other news network. Simply put, to even reach those viewers and make sure decent ideas can reach that audience, we have to…well…reach that audience! Pete had a pretty good way of balancing it by coming onto the show and blasting the network itself while still being diplomatic to the viewerbase.

Fox News has already been wrongfully legitimized, already created a sort of Plato’s cave that traps it’s viewerbase into a cycle of propaganda and fear mongering. The best we can do now is to infiltrate the network, squeeze the moral truth into the sight of their viewerbase so that the viewers might actually be able to hear it and come to the truth.

All I can say is if you vote for Biden you’re doing the same evil as 2016 for Clinton. Wake up! Or else another 4 years of Trump.

look how many counties that had voted for Obama got flipped by Trump. If you want them to switch back you have to go somewhere where you can talk to them

Hillary did interviews with Fox, for all the good it did her. The way to win as a Democrat is to turn out your base, not go fishing for conservatives that hate you on principle. Conservatives are not liberals that are just misinformed; they are misinformed on purpose to maintain their worldview and values and actions. Samantha Bee is 100% right on this.

Obviously no one should feel obligated to go on FOX News. Saying otherwise is just silly.

However, going on FOX News doesn’t “legitimize” them any more than not going on FOX News de-legitimizes them. Whether Democrats visit them or not, they’re still the most popular news network. They’ve dominated prime time for 208 months in a row. Democratic candidates’ comments are going to be taken out of context on FOX News regardless of whether or not they’re stated on FOX News, so going on is the only way any FOX News viewers will ever see them IN context.

This all goes back to the debate over whether or not Democrats should try to reach out to moderate and conservative voters or simply focus on motivating their base in 2020. I understand the appeal of the latter strategy, as it’s how Trump won the White House in 2016. However, I think our current presidential campaign, being as ungodly long as it is, allows for candidates to do both.

Remember too that Mayor Pete took Fox’s primetime air time, to call out their primetime hosts Laura ingraham and Tucker Carlson for their bigotry.
