James Corden connects with David Oyelowo, who is zooming in from a rather barren room. Then on the topic of Mother’s Day, James asks David to explain how Oprah Winfrey came to be David’s “second mom” whom he calls every Mother’s Day ever since playing her son in the film “The Butler.” Then David shares tales of how his real mother had a difficult time telling fact from fiction in David’s acting. Afterwards, David shares a clip from his directorial debut, “The Water Man.”

ReplyO’Yelowo, must be an Irish name, right? Black Irish? Like O’Bama?
ReplyI love the fact David Oyelowo looked for a script that hadn’t been done instead of remaking something from the 80s like so many (too many) other producer/directors do.
ReplyHey you. Yes you. random person that I will never meet. I truly hope that you will find happiness in life. Today is going to be a great day
ReplyI was expecting they’ll have conversation about James’ phone call with Oprah. Lol

ReplySERIOUS SUGGESTION:
ReplyFor the O’tel you should pitch that they aquire or construct one near Tyler Perry’s studio in Atlanta. They could generate a significant amount of business by housing their guests, acting staff, and crews. The O’tel could also become a location for remote filming.
Great interview. Oyelowo is very well spoken, a wonderful storyteller.
ReplyWhat’s wrong with Never Ending Story having a Part 2? It’s… never-ending? It could have all the sequels!
ReplyOprah is 22 years older than David. Afraid that IS age-appropriate to be a mom. Sorry, O.
