…I’m predominately White, but biracial… and a person of faith…

and that comment from AMERICA, LAND I LOVE …actually legitimately pisses me off.

How to win the “Teaching people to hate America” bullshit argument:
Step 1) Ask them if they hate Germans.
Step 2) If they say “no,” ask “why not? Weren’t you taught about the holocaust? I thought teaching people about bad things that happened makes you hate those countries and their people?” And if they say “yes” to that or any other hypothetical group then you know that you’re talking to a xenophobic lunatic that’s beyond all reason.

    Alternatively:
Step 1) Ask them if they would want an elementary school staff to remain employed if they found out all the teachers had molested dozens of children.
Step 2) If they say “no”, ask “So what you’re saying is, knowing about the history of something/someone, you don’t find that aspect of society acceptable and in need of change because it negatively impacts a group of people? If that question sounds familiar at all, it should because it’s basically the fucking definitive intended function of Critical Race Theory.”

And if they say “yes”, make sure you were recording that and call Child Services.

Did someone just *~outright~* say that they think Western Culture brought about Christianity, as opposed to vice versa (in a Westward imperialism from Europe to the East of us sense)?….. c:

I think the YouTube channel ‘Some More News’ said it very well in their video on MLK: “the sadistic cynicism of conservatives quoting MLK to justify a ban on the supposed teaching of CRT in schools can’t be overstated as a supervillain level hate f—ing of the American soul. You know, especially because MLK was one of the major influences for CRT in the first place. It is the political equivalent of beating someone with their own severed arm; a brazen act of racism that every American should see right through – except, you know, America.”

I mean CRT is like… flat earth theory, and has no place in schools.

This is a lazy analysis, cherry picking hardline conservative critiques, and pretending that these new approaches to bigotry are synonymous with all honest approaches to bigotry.

Here’s the interesting fact: If MLK Jr. were alive today, then people like Rufo and opposers of CRT would have attacked him all the while using MLK’s own words.

the sad part about it is that the main people pushing this will not be able to afford the voucher system their schools will become the poorest schools. Because if your states give 7000 per kid that is all you are getting and if the better school cost 20,000 , you have to come out of pocket for the 13,000. It is amazing how they don’t understand by fighting for things that are putting them in a hole they will never get out of.
