Seth Meyers takes a moment to address some of the errors from this week of Late Night, like misspelling “purl” and saying the robot Twiki is from Battlestar Galactica.

You could also ask a classicist to translate latin….
ReplyWhy else’s would I get a degree in classical studies, if not for this moment
Non face sloth.
Long o, next word is fa- kay
(I wouldn’t translate sloth because it’s a name)
The “Gil Faison, charmed I’m sure” was absolutely the best. Underrated joke, loved, loved it!
ReplyI love all of the small jokes that are more visual. Like the revoked nerd card on the back of the notes at the end. It’s one series that I always take the time to watch and not just have on in the background.
Replycorrectiones …at this point he is asking for it.. Jackals Assemble
ReplyTwiggy Ramirez. Anyone? lol
Reply12:07 none of the words in the Latin translation of “Don’t do Sloth” were in Latin
Replyhow do you know I’ll see you next week? what if I’m busy and need to catch up in a few weeks. “you’ll be able to see me next week” would be more accurate though it also assumes that people are watching this as it comes out and if its a web exclusive a lot of people will be watching it after its released. i feel “we’ll be back next week” is more acceptable as its setting you as the subject of the statement and so next week implies your next week as opposed to saying “You’ll” which implies its my next week which would be wrong if i already can see the next episode of this Emmy nominated show on the recommendations on the right of the screen.
Reply😔 Seth, Seth, Seth… 😔 I’m not even mad, just really disappointed in you.
Firstly, OF COURSE we Jackals speak Latin. As you might surmise from our pedantry, we are highly educated pedants.
ReplySecondly, doctors and priests are not good sources of Latin. Why not ask a Classical Languages scholar, like @scipiomartianus who can speak (yes, SPEAK) Latin fluently.
Thirdly, my translation of “Don’t do Sloth” would be folivora non imitantur. Feel free to correct me.
Fourthly, you should know there are Latin joke books out there, perhaps by reading one you could educate yourself on some REAL humour. You won’t get jokes as good as those in your precious “impressions camp”.
Fifthly, Latin is not dead. Content is being made everyday in Latin: there’s songs about fighting the Ender Dragon in Minecraft, pranks, translations of popular books into Latin, not to mention it is an official language of the Vatican and the Pope tweets in Latin. We nerds who still have our nerd cards still stan Latin.
Sixthly, Frisbee is the coolest.
“See me next week” sounds like something a doctor might say.

ReplyCorrection: I think Studio 8G is on the side of 30 Rock that faces 50th Street, not 49th Street, so the windows behind Seth’s desk are inaccurate. They should show Central Park, not the Empire State Building. No matter what direction the studio faces, the window behind the 8G band, with the Bank of America tower, is incorrect in relation to the windows behind Seth.
ReplyCorrection: Asthma wasn’t one of the pre-existing conditions that allowed you to get the vaccine in group 1B
ReplyStill laughing. Corrections is still the only thing I search for several times a week in hopes of finding a new episode and feeling gutted if it’s not out yet.
ReplyPause and stop are different especially with video, it pauses so that the video can be resumed shortly from where you left off. In some digital media pause keeps the frame up for a set period of time, the video may resume after a certain time, or stop. In YouTube you will wand to close the video, app, or website to stop. That way you aren’t stuck staring at your face…
ReplyThis should have stayed in the drafts
ReplyAdam Sandler built his career doing a Sloth impersonation.
ReplyYOU FUKIN LIED TO ME!!! I BOUGHT THE DIP!!! turns out the dip was more of a oooommmph, so yeah like dont give stock tips Carl, or what ever your show is called!
ReplyI’ve seen some articles questioning the actual timeline as opposed to the one contained in your interview/convo with John Mulaney and Olivia Munn — so as not to be complicit in any late night malfeasance, is a correction warranted?
ReplyI was so surprised that pearl 2 wasn’t, in your parlance, “jackal bait”. It very much felt like you engaging in some trolling back.
