I like to think people will look up the references and will hopefully like and incorporate them into their knowledge base

The segments where they just talk to each other like this are better than the interviews with guests 🙁

I actually really relate to Conan’s slight on people who don’t know about other time periods. I’ve always taken time to learn and absorb what I could about “what were people doing in the 70s? Or the 60s or the 50s or the 30s or the 1880s even? What would’ve been different about that time, what would’ve been going on, what would people know and care about?” It’s fine to not know every detail but it’s not enough to just know there was a civil war, make some connections about what mattered and what was the same and different about that time versus now. It’s so illuminating and a lot of people are really in the dark. Elder millenial age here.

this might be my last comment on youtube as the situation in Iran had turned for the worst and the access to VPNs and free internet seems to be going away forever.

i just wanted to say that Conan and all the characters in his universe had been a great source of happiness and good mental health for me over the years and through his show i got to see places and people that i would have otherwise never seen. 6-7 years ago when i first saw Conan i thought to myself who is this over the top comedian shouting like a lunatic… and year after year i got more and more hooked up on the show, on the characters and the travels and the old bits. it was a pleasure to see Conan’s comedy and it has turned me into a better person with a better sense of humor. i hope i would one day meet him in person and tell him how much i loved his comedy and his calming and kind personality.

until then, good bye for now.
