Last summer, the NCAA introduced Name Image and Likeness deals that allow college athletes to accept payment from sponsors and brands — including anything from endorsement deals to TikTok sponsorships. In this episode, WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu sits down with Roy Wood Jr. to discuss what this means for college athletes, the future of compensating players, and how she is involved with navigating deals for students at her alma mater, University of Oregon. #DailyShow #BeyondTheScenes

Coach Logan sounds like my high school counselor, Jerry Logan. Don’t listen to never-beens. Mr Logan told me I should keep my expectations low and not apply to the 3 Tier 1 schools I had in mind. I did anyway and ended up getting accepted at all three with full scholarships. It bears repeating: don’t listen to never-beens.

I don’t think its fair for the universities to pay college athletes or hs athletes. The universities just put the cost of the programs and new stadiums etc onto the non athlete students when they came for the school and not the sport. Regardless if the team is a winning team or not. Schools on all lvls, shouldnt be this invested in sports in my opinion. If you wanna make a career in sports, I agree to get sponsorships or help marketing yourself. Theres starving artistis out there that go to school too, theyre not the only ones struggling in college

22:51 Maybe my ignorance, here, is due to my lack of interest in college basketball, but why do male and female athletes need different _weight_ sets?

This deal is the Goofiest shidd I’ve heard of.. there’s no cause for Celebrating the NCAA AND YOUR schools that gain all the benefits are still NOT PAYING YOU STUDENT ATHLETES..!! Just because now you can get the ” hook up” from a friend at a fast food shop with out getting your Heisman trophy 🏆 revoked doesn’t constitute equality.. equal pay for services rendered. Don’t get Played further.. we don’t watch college sports in this house .. !
