I had thought of the idea that people should go out to the various farms, pick as much as they can, keep a certain amount for themselves and donate the rest to the various foodbanks in their area. Now I know that there are some people who are unable to do the hard job of picking, these people can be the ones driving a vehicle and keeping track of what’s been picked. And then the next day a different set of people do the same. Do it in shifts. That would help the local farmers, get fresh produce to the food banks and get all that fruit/vegetables to others. There should be some form of compensation to the farmers as they too, need money to pay their bills and that would allow them to purchase more seeds for next year. I also think that people should go into halves or quarters and buy either a cow or pig from a ranch, pay for a butcher to do their job, split up their share of the cow or pig and that way they will have meat. That’s basically what Chef Andre is doing. Some people could even purchase a couple of cows or pigs, pay a butcher to cut them up and give the meat to a food bank or a homeless shelter so they can make meals. Anyone else have any other ideas? Post them and maybe somebody will read my comment or yours and maybe these ideas will get to the right person.

MVP! I donate to WCK because they get shit done! Seriously, no talk, no delay, no bs. He knows how to SCALE an operation. That’s KEY! Love this man. <3 The situation with food waste has a lot to do with two separate (and complex) supply chains in the agricultural industry.

There is always a solution. The challenge is, as Josě said, distribution. It takes someone to say “Let’s just do it”. Bravo bravo bravo

For those who want to MAGA, how does that work? Through the billionaire narcissistic sociopath who sends money to his friends, or the Spanish immigrant who works to feed you and yours, get restaurant staff gainfully employed and coordinate whoever it takes to keep people going?

The issue of food distribution as Andre said is absolutely right, but in the USA is particularly bad because the industrial food system we have. What I disagree with him is that restaurants feed the few, on the contrary we should be aware now of how much we depend on others cooking for us, particularly the fast food restaurants.
