ReplyNo vaccine is 100% effective. Most vaccines are only 50-70% effective anyway, so 95% is pretty fantastic. If you are fully vaccinated the risk of catching the virus and even transmitting is abysmally low. If you are immunocompromised and can’t get the vaccine, mask up (twice), and maybe stay at home. If you’re walking around without a mask and you’re not vaccinated, you’re putting yourself at risk. The reason some vaccinated people get sick is because they went out after one shot or didn’t wait the full two weeks after the second. I still don’t see why we went through this whole charade of pushing for a vaccine if people are still going to be living in fear once they’ve been vaccinated. And no, I’m not an anti-masker. Happy to wear one for a business, but I did my part and I expect others to do theirs. And if people don’t take aim to protect themselves, that’s on them; they weren’t doing it anyway.

ReplyWe may have already achieved herd immunity, between those who have been vaccinated and those who have had COVID, some of which overlap. The only way to determine the data is surveillance antibody testing. Over a year into this pandemic, a vast majority have been exposed to COVID. Many have either tested positive or had it asymptomatically. The most recent studies show antibodies from actual infection lasting at least 202 days.
If only we had a National healthcare system to organize this. UGH

I am from Singapore and there were cases where the infected person had already been fully vaccinated and in turn infected others. In addition, there are new variants of Covid and we do not know if the current vaccines are effective for these variants. My advice is keep your mask on and stay safe.
