I wonder if the President & Even the former president could get on live TV Together with a united front and ask all Americans to really take the honor system seriously, look out for each other and wear a mask if you still have not been fully vaccinated.

Why would that be so difficult? Having Biden & Trump together on this one issue talking to the American people saying the same message, they don’t have to get along, or like each other but could they just have a 30 second time on TV together to unite this country around this issue? I don’t feel that is too much to expect. or am I living in a fairy tale world – I feel having both Biden and Trump together saying the same thing to the American people would be a VERY powerful thing and could help a lot

I called this awhile ago, I knew they would find away to turn people against each other more, now the people who didn’t get vacc will be the villains which makes no sense, why get the “ vacc” if it doesn’t protect you against non vacc people,?

You are at risk whether you wear it or not because you expelled air and have to breathe anyway no matter what. It is like back in 50’s when you had avoid some one who the measles or chicken pox. Then you got the vaccine and you get it anyway, We got a booster in school back in 50’s and and when we in 60’s I got what ever was in the shot. I even had enfantigo a skin disease, and still have the scars.

No vaccine is 100% effective. Most vaccines are only 50-70% effective anyway, so 95% is pretty fantastic. If you are fully vaccinated the risk of catching the virus and even transmitting is abysmally low. If you are immunocompromised and can’t get the vaccine, mask up (twice), and maybe stay at home. If you’re walking around without a mask and you’re not vaccinated, you’re putting yourself at risk. The reason some vaccinated people get sick is because they went out after one shot or didn’t wait the full two weeks after the second. I still don’t see why we went through this whole charade of pushing for a vaccine if people are still going to be living in fear once they’ve been vaccinated. And no, I’m not an anti-masker. Happy to wear one for a business, but I did my part and I expect others to do theirs. And if people don’t take aim to protect themselves, that’s on them; they weren’t doing it anyway.

  • Random Joe 2 years ago

Still even after all this time there is ZERO focus on advising people to take steps to strengthen their immune system.

This entire pandemic has been handled in a way that makes it crazy suspicious. Especially this unusual push to vaccinate 100% of the population.

If the vaccine protects you, then it makes no sense to insist that everyone MUST have it.

I just got double vaccinated, but I’ll still wear a mask cause 1. Okay, I did buy some cute masks and 2. Respect, nobody knows I’m vaccinated in a store and I know I would be uncomfortable with ppl walking around without masks indoors in our current circumstances. Only 37%? We need maybe 70% for herd immunity.
I do hope this ends sooner than later though

We may have already achieved herd immunity, between those who have been vaccinated and those who have had COVID, some of which overlap. The only way to determine the data is surveillance antibody testing. Over a year into this pandemic, a vast majority have been exposed to COVID. Many have either tested positive or had it asymptomatically. The most recent studies show antibodies from actual infection lasting at least 202 days.

If only we had a National healthcare system to organize this. UGH

We all know that the republicans that didn’t want to wear them in the first place will take advantage of it. At the same time, I’m sure the CDC is looking at the numbers and saying at this point even if half of US got the vaccine, we are not going to bombard the hospitals like before. That’s what I think. But yes I feel like it’s too soon because these stores are not going to ask for a vaccine card!

During this next month, we, being the 5th largest world economy, will have a chance to observe how other states manage their mask mandates, their opening up & their case and/or variant count changes. I know it’s not because they think that the vaccine injects a micro tracking device into our blood stream, because we already _have_ a tracking device in our cell phones that we’re absolutely comfortable carrying around.

That’s parenting. Might not be what every parent needs to do, it is what this parent need to do.

Yeah and how many people who actually haven’t had the vaccines will lie and say or pretend they’ve had the vaccines. A friend’s cousin who is a front line worker had both vaccines and still got COVID three times afterwards.

Another friend got her shots and still got COVID.

The vaccines don’t remove COVID from the air or from transferring on clothes or surfaces or children who are asymptomatic from spreading it. Or children who aren’t/can’t get vaccinated from getting it.

You can get infected and even very little number of people die due to corona after having to vaccines. So in this case, all country should make it compulsory to wear mask even after getting 2 jabs.

I am from Singapore and there were cases where the infected person had already been fully vaccinated and in turn infected others. In addition, there are new variants of Covid and we do not know if the current vaccines are effective for these variants. My advice is keep your mask on and stay safe.

If you want to wear it , wear it.
If choose not to don’t . Both sides have points but we have to learn to respect each other’s choices. Everyone is super extreme on both sides of the spectrum for absolutely no reason at all.
