Cheers to everyone’s lives who were ruined due to this nonsense because their employers held their income hostage unless they took drugs to get their freedoms back.

Big Pharma are economic predators, just like all Corporations who put their companies in the hands of their CFO’s, whose only mantra is make as much profit as we can however we can, rather than a more holistic approach which is very very rare. It WILL be the death of Capitalism ultimately, in my opinion, when enough middle class people are driven into homelessness and further economic offenses that will push people over the edge.

I love all the ignoramuses with zero industry expertise speaking about something they know nothing about! its so funny. I worked in pharma for 20 years so i know it way more than most. There is no conspiracy, there is no ripping off of people, it’s all political narrative or just plain ignorance. Im excluding, Purdue, in this. But remember one company doesn’t make an industry anymore than the cases of the few nurses or doctor s who intentionally killed their patients. Most health practitioners want to help their patients just like pharmaceutical scientists who devote their lives to helping people treat their disease. Yes public companies, which most drug companies are, are for profit! That’s our system, that’s our country. What drug companies have to do that many other companies have to do is make a profit, plus devote billions to research to create new drugs as their ability to make money is not finite like Phillip Morris, Walmart, Facebook, GM and Google to name a few. Drug companies have patent lives on their products. Remember when breast cancer was a definite death sentence? That’s thankfully not the case anymore and you can thank pharma, and i can go on and on. Remember people are investing in these companies for a return on investment. If pharma doesnt make any money then no one will invest and there will be no pharma, no drugs, no hope. No return means people will take their dollars and invest in Amazon, Google, Ford, Facebook, and Tesla and nothing in pharma. Certainly not great way to treat disease

It still pisses me off that Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family got away with causing the oxy addiction crisis. Sure their corporation paid $6 billion, but the Sacklers still have over $11 billion left and got immunity from any future lawsuits.

It’s the taking public money for research that they spend only on drugs that will be profitable for long-term use. No expenditures on any drug that could work in a limited time frame.

In America all politicians are bought and paid for by corporations. I have always wondered how much money from all the government settled cases actually gets to the victims and how much goes into the government pockets to buy nicer office furniture. As always the punishment still leaves the corporations with huge profits so there is no incentive to stop screwing the working class out of their hard earned money. The government uses tax money to prosecute the corporations then keeps the settlement money to “Recover the government costs for the crime”. If corporate crime did not pay they would not do it. The companies and politicians are the ones who get the money and the working class gets the shaft.

But lets just pretend it’s just Purdue Pharma. No money to be made in healing people.

Russel has this funny way of seeming nuts, but that cuts deep to expose core problems. Made the other guest look like a richard cranium. The one who sees partisanship everywhere, except in his own house.

Can’t wear a Joy Division shirt and still be lame. Thought that was impossible.

This isn’t a symptom of capitalism…it’s a system of centralised money markets allowing bad products to be bailed out with bad money. No free markets when the money is free to those at the top.
