ReplyWell, it’s not like the other Oceans have clear edges. It’s all one interconnected body of water, and it’s only the positions of the continents that initially gave geographers a reason to say “here is Ocean A, here is Ocean B.” The circular currents are if anything a better demarcation of a border than anything the Indian Ocean had going in the era before modern Oceanography.
