Many Americans see its former President and Putin as strong leaders. The world however knows they are both tyrants. Unfortunately, America remains convinced, that world history does not apply to itself.

Every rational observer knew that trump would leave a poisoned chalice for Biden, but nobody realised he poisoned the well.

4:50 Never have to say the word ‘trump’. Best not play bridge or whist or follow snooker. Unfortunately, in UK, we still have to say ‘Johnson’

He who arises in Might – not the Abhorred. J R R Tolkien is fiction but it does reflect today’s oddities. Wonderlands and Looking Glasses and Humpty Dumpty s and Turtles all the way down. How does 7 million votes down still stay relevant?

A tale of two speeches: how Putin’s bloodcurdling declaration of war and Zelensky’s heartfelt appeal for peace showed, as the latter said, that “Ukraine on your TV news and the real Ukraine are two totally different countries.”

To be fair, Ukraine is nothing to do with democracy. West has always supported very nasty regimes as party of proxy cold war in past so self-identifying as heroes coming to rescue of damsel in distress is based on false memory. It was NATO overstretching along with EU to get right up close and personal with Russian border. Like Kruschev and Cuba in 1960s. Ukraine should be a no man’s land buffer between super powers. Present politicians are merely juggling with balls tossed to them by Clinton, Trump, EU, and, of course, the arms manufacturers who need to sell their products

The far right has been on the march around the world for some time, bit like the last 20’s.
