“I am acting this gay no matter what happens!” BenDeLaCreme, star of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” discusses how limiting access to drag and LGBTQ+ spaces won’t limit queerness in children, how drag performers have historically uplifted and fought for the queer community, and the ACLU’s Drag Defense Fund. #DailyShow #Comedy #BenDeLaCreme #lgbtqia #AlFranken

Fab make-up!
ReplyBenDeLaCreme managed to draw a pregnant pause from Al with a simple line is all I need to continue watching.
ReplyWonderful interview!
ReplyI will NOT, “accept” 10% of the population forcing themselves into my 90%.
ReplyReminds me of the 1% rich ramming big rubber toys into the 99%.
Nobody but that 11% want that.
Get it folks?????
Thank you Ambassador Putnam for minimizing Senator Franken’s awkwardness.

When I’m old, I want to have BenDeLaCreme’s wisdom and Al Franken’s openness.
ReplyI absolutely adore Dela. I’m glad the Daily Show gave her a platform to talk about the history of drag and the coded language in these B.S. bills. She does a great job of explaining everything.
Reply“I barely made it out alive of my childhood, but I did because I had a little bit of access to this glimpse of a world outside that would accept me for who I am…not just in spite of who I am, but BECAUSE of who I am” – BenDeLaCreme
So powerful. So fiercely vulnerable. It really pulls into focus what a sad and violent culture is normalized and perpetuated by a dominant culture sorely lacking in true freedom and love for life in all of its very natural, diverse, and *beautiful* forms.
ReplyAl looked uncomfortable. She looked amazing.
