Instead of cash bail we should be using a much more conscientious approach. Consider risk, previous criminal history etc. Put the box on them if necessary. But nobody should be in jail/prison for a small amount of marijuana. It’s ridiculous.
ReplyThere’s one BIG reason why there are so many uncharged people kept in prisons (especially in private prisons). It’s legalized slavery. The 13th Amendment got rid of slavery ‘except as a penalty for a crime’. The penal system loves the fact that they have slave labor through keeping people in prison, even if they aren’t convicted of a crime (and it makes a ton of money for private prisons). So it makes sense why they want to get rid of bail reform, as it removes people from their captive work force.
ReplyI live in a country with no bail, not a dystopian Mad Max world here..
Reply17:45. When someone repeats an absolute positive, over and over, while strongly shaking their head, “no”…you know they are lying.
ReplyDear John,
ReplyThanks for pointing out how the English and Americans use the word Cunt differently, The More You Know.
A racist computer! God not even a mention of the plausibility that maybe some people are just more likely to commit crimes than others.
ReplyMayor Lightfoot is a gucking joke. I’m as liberal as they come, straight up, but Lightfoot is fucking delusional. Runs a city with horrendous poverty rates but still criminalizes poverty.
ReplyAll Americans watching these pos that aren’t American will all be gone by 2030 along with these pos. Gonna be fun watching u all scream and cry
ReplyBump! @swistedfilms Remeber kids, if the penalty is a fine it’s legal for the rich.
Just bumping your quote because everyone needs to see and remember this. Always.
ReplyMoney and power, everything is about the money and the power over the regular people lifes, the bail out companies, the bounty hunters, the prison system and the screw you power that the police applied at their discretion, this is not about justice but the people don’t even bother to learn a little more before they make up their minds, a broken society is what you get every time and the same people on the top laughing at us!!
ReplyWe need to get rid of the lies, punishment for those who lie, and see what happens
ReplyNumber 1, 80% of crime is drug use and theft. So that’s nothing to be afraid of. And the other 20% is violent. In most cases the theif or violent person is alone maybe in a group of 4 at the most. I’d be more concerned about a heavily armed force that numbers in the hundreds that have no consequences for the crimes they’ve committed.
ReplyMost western countries DO NOT have any bail system at all. Either you are released until court date, or you are taken to a hospital (e.g. psychiatry if you are a danger…alternatively drunk tank), or you are put in jail/holding while the case is investigated (to avoid tampering with evidence). At no point is money/bail a thing.
