Talking about history and stuff is great every time when this happens, but I hope one day when we look back today’s 24/7 Sinophbia & anti-China sentiment from both sides of the government, we will feel just as awful and guilty…

The thing is… Samantha is awesome. Her content is awesome…

But minor tweaks to presentation and marketing would put her just into the reach of those who need her.

We can’t just blame the obvious racists here either. The model minority myth, which is still unfortunately common among people across the spectrum for different reasons, has made violence and bigotry against Asian-Americans hard for some to see or accept.

I live in an area with a very high population of people of asian descent. There’s a lot of culture from many different asian countries in the area. It amazes me how on the one hand we enjoy authentic asian restaurants, asian art traditions and asian festivals but there’s still a lot of anti asian prejudice, and recently many hate crimes. White people taking advantage of other people’s cultures while at the same time hating those people is nothing new but man it’s f’ed up

If there are any Asians watching this you need to stop being docile. No that doesn’t make you superior or taking the moral high ground. You have to act. Stop letting people walk all over you. FIGHT BACK. Stop letting them mock you tell jokes etc.

I’ve been fighting racism all my life and have had ZERO support not even from other Asians. It’s always stop causing trouble stop fighting stop arguing. Did you really think that racism was over. And it ain’t just white people hating Asians it’s black people too. Although it’s much smaller stop fooling yourself. SILENCE IS NOT AN OPTION. They think we’re all Chinese and that we are all dirty and that we created the coronavirus. FIGHT BACK or it will just go on and on. And don’t rely on the police because they don’t care.

In my neck of the woods I’m the only one who puts up a fight against the haters. I’m surrounded and outnumbered everywhere I go. Either stand together or get divided and conquered. White America most not all secretly quietly behind closed doors hate all people of color.

We are the most educated highest income earners in America and the majority on the world stage. Stop trying to appease and FIGHT BACK. Do not let up because THEY WON’T.

And because of what the US down to the Japanese, they were given reparations called the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. Now the US needs to give reparations to black people

To the asian community. You need to fight the fight that needs to be fought. Do it for you … Do it for your family and future generations. I listened to a motivational speaker who said it’s easy to sit around and feel sorry for yourself. But self pity isn’t going to Change anything. You need to be angry and ready to fight the necessary fight for justice and human dignity. The community had sacraficed too much for this country to be treated by society and the powerful elites in charge like unequal second class citizens. 4000 attacks in the last few months in America. And that’s probably way way underreported. We all know that…

How can you “fix” racism in a country that uses words like “african american”, “asian american”, etc. to refer to people born in America from families that have not seen Africa or Asia in generations. If you put the segregation in the definition, the result will be segregation, thus racism will be lurking not too far away.

Well, it’s only fair since China has started treating white people as second rank citizens, so seeing the US treat those of Asian decent is a perfect way to create tension that’s going to be higher than that of the cold war!

I expect WW3 in 10 to 20 years between China and the US.

To Sam Bee and Full Front team: Keep these evermore relevant “history lessons” coming!! It’s easy to gloss over this part of North American history (yes, that includes Canada) into short snippets in textbooks or whenever it’s already in the headlines. It’s more effective adding satire and new context to keep them alive on an ongoing basis. This not only helps to confront current systemic racism for Asians, it also helps avoid repeating racism against all groups still marginalized in society. Ending racism is a marathon, not a “race” (so sorry not sorry for the horrible pun)

I knew that US had a racist and hypocritical history but even I am constantly amazed at the revelations I Am coming to Know. And yes, I know. Racism and bigotry is not unique to only US but it is quite common around the world. Difference is no other country claims as much righteousness as “great nation” as does US ( unless they are autocratic like North Korea)

We have a very long history of bad behavior toward minorities starting with Native Americans and we must continue to pushback against those who think this situation is acceptable. It should be considered child abuse when parents pass down these racist beliefs to their children and perpetuate the cycle.

Trump? White people? No sweetie, no. We know who is attacking Asians, and it’s the same people you didn’t want in your school. Samantha, why did you fight for your white NYC school from accepting lower class minority folks? Because Samantha Bee is a white supremacist that like Biden, probably doesn’t want her white children going to a “racial jungle” (Joe Biden’s quote)

America has had a love-hate relationship with the Asian Community. More hate than love. As Sam pointed out there have been a lot law and acts of violence towards the Asian Community. The saying “they don’t have a Chinaman’s chance…” is engraved in our racist culture. Still the Asian community has been seen as the “model minority.” In the early 1980’s Japanese Culture and economy were envied by a lot of Americans, particularly on the Right. The Asian culture particularly East Asian culture is seen as mysterious and is sometime romanticize and other times villainized. When Nancy Pelosi went to Chinatown she was ridiculed by the right, that included many European-Americans who’s family’s immigrated after many of the families in Chinatown.

My grandparents faced anti-Asian sentiment and anti-Asian laws when they married in the ’60s due to being an interracial couple. Because my grandfather is Japanese, it was illegal for them to get married in certain states (including the state they were living in) so they had to travel around and find a state where it was permissible–and that’s on top of the racism they faced socially and within their own families.

I also had a family member who was sent to one of the Japanese Internment Camps….

My favorite Chinese restaurant had their windows smashed in about 6 months into the pandemic. The national food chains on either side of them have more connections to China than they do. The misdirected stupidity is disgusting.
