Organizations can hire fake advocates who create the illusion of real support for their message. It’s a shady practice called astroturfing that can warp the public perception of anything…even astroturfing.
Yasss john oliver is the shizzle mo nizzle
Edit: maybe not
I’ve never commented on a video so soon before. HELLO WORLD.
I thought that this was going to be an 18 minute video on AstroTurf ?
John Oliver keeps me one step closer to being sane in the Trump era…
Our local astroturfers are “CRED” Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development= oil and gas companies for fracking dollars
What I’ve learned from this show is to trust nobody mentioned by John Oliver
To me Astroturfing is rubbing my genitals against a plushie of Astro, the dog from the Jetsons.
I highly recommend it…
Thought this was actually gonna be about the astroturfing industry and was still down, that’s how you know the show is great.
Yes, made it within the first 100 comments!
*I’ve never been this early*
I think the real crime of that first ad about Soda taxes was that she left her trunk open but closed her front door. PICK ONE MOTHERFUCKER. PICK ONE.
Lies! We all know dragons love bakeries.
*Funnytime happy hour with Chucke hunk John Oliver is my favorite show.*
With Trump administration’s new policy which says organizations like the NRA are no longer needed to reveal who their donors are, propaganda tactics like astroturfing are only going to get a lot worse because now every foreign government, every company, every rich person on this planet can pour unlimited amount of money into American politics to make the US government their own bi*ch just like Russia did.
John Oliver may look like a toucan, but he has the sage advice and wisdom of an ancient British turtle. Keep up the good work!
Recent episodes have been very informative. But this adresses a problem we didn’t know we have and no one is talking about. More of these please
Astroturfing is better than birds in the trap but not as good as rodeo
*”Paid for by the citizens for fresher orange juice.”*
Per usual, Trump was right about a problem while simultaneously being part of said problem.
