1 trillion dollars yet they need a tax break. Apple is one of the big companies that does not pay taxes.

Meanwhile, Apple is sitting on a quarter of a trillion dollars in cash, buys back their stock at every opportunity (gotta get them bonuses), and dodge taxes at every turn. Why did we need that corporate tax rate again?

I love playing farming and survival games but I would never want to live on a farm or a cabin in the woods ever. Too much manual labor involved.

All Pope Francis’ big announcements mentioned here are not really as big as they seem in the press. The commandment is “thou shalt not murder”, and the Old Testament does not consider capital punishment murder. The Catholic Church had long considered that capital punishment is wrong except in situations where it is the only way to protect society from someone who is gravely dangerous. But, as prisons have become more and more secure, the church has discussed that such situations are almost unheard of in the developed world. So, the Catholic Church’s position has been one of anti-death penalty in the developed world for decades now. The difference here is that Pope Francis is saying the Church should be anti-death penalty even in the developing world.
