In part two of his interview, the amazing Andy Serkis shows Stephen some of the tricks he used to create unique voices for the 132 characters who have speaking lines in “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” books. Find the LOTR audiobooks now on Audible, and catch Andy as Alfred in the new film, “The Batman.” #Colbert #LordOfTheRings #AndySerkis
If you ever wanna see Steve with a bone have Andy on
ReplyHis role as Martin Hannett was still my favourite performance of his.
ReplyA master chameleon portraying a legend.
He should be given an Oscar for just being himself
ReplyAndy serkis has to be one of the most talented person. As if his physical acting wasn’t great enough he is such a master voice actor
ReplyMakes me think if I should get Audible,..
ReplyI love Andy Serkis. Such an underrated actor!
ReplyThanks Andy Serkis, that was super.
ReplyDon’t forget Andy was also part of the Princess Bride Home Video project, where he was Count Rugen opposite Elijah Woods’ Prince Humperdinck.
Reply3:26 Stephen’s in love
ReplyOthers have already said it, but I have to chime in, too: I can’t tell which I love more; Andy’s performance or Stephen’s face. My goodness, that is some genuine love and respect on display right there between those two. The expression on Andy’s face when Stephen stood up at the end to shake his hand, well that was a keeper, too. This is why I love The Late Show. It’s like this really sweet, classy, nerdy, weirdly- talented kid invites us to hang out with his equally sweet, classy, nerdy, weirdly-talented friends every night. It’s so much fun.
ReplyI dunno about The Batman but I was looking for an Audible book for my road trip and now I know what to get.
ReplyStephen’s face when Andy did Gollum’s voice…was all our faces while watching that…
ReplyJudging from Stephen’s reaction, I’m not sure he enjoyed that. 🙂
Replyi love Stephen’s face when Andy acted Gollum and Smeagol. He is in pure awe.
ReplyUkraine could’ve avoided the entire invasion had they hired Serkis to negotiate with the Russian government as Gollum.
ReplyI’m surprised Stephen stood up after that Gollum, he looks so excited that he would have to hide something.
ReplyAwww that’s so adorable (a-dork-able?) And cuuuteeee! Stephens face…..
ReplyI would like a 30 minute video (at least) of Stephen watching Andy re-enact his recording of The Hobbit and/or Lord of the Rings. Just a side-by-side act and reaction “best of”, just like this. Thank you.
