I’m all for this guy. However, there was brief mention about abolishing the penny. It actually is a good idea economically but it never gets done because it hits a roadblock when it comes to states with sales tax rates that aren’t divisible by 5, like Pennsylvania with 6%. They’re convinced the rate will go up to 10% and not down to 5% and will never consider supporting it regardless of any merits to doing so.

Don’t trust him… if he becomes president, and he gives everyone $1000’s…. will he keep the other safety nets in place… ie… Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, welfare ?

“We spend more than a penny on each penny.” It makes sense to abolish it. And I’m confident Yang will abolish other governmental and social programs for this same reason.

UBI can be used to replace welfare, Section 8, or whatever. That means less bureaucrats to pay. That means a leaner government which helps pay for UBI too. And if people are making normal market decisions with their money, they’ll tend to use it more efficiently. And no one is going to be living comfortably on $1000 a month. There is still lots of incentive to work. And for those that say, “people will just spend it on drugs!”, well you’re already paying for those people every time they steal your car or break into your house. You pay for them every time they get locked up or end up in the ER. At least with UBI you’ll get the homeless and pan handlers off the street.

There is not a worker in the world that would turn down $1000 a month.

ITS THE BIG COMPANIES AND CORRUPT POLITICIANS THAT HATE IT.
    Why?
    Because it will generate freedom.
    Entrepeneurship.
Small businesses instead of mega malls.
People will NOT take the low paying shit jobs anymore but instead hold out for something better: the company has to pay them more.
It CAN Create 0% unemployment because people will work parttime if they desire.
    Freedom for families.
    Vacations.
No stress because of a broken car.

There is NO downside to a UBI.
Don’t let them tell you otherwise.

Look deeper into the policy, it is the first step towards dismantling the welfare state. Food stamps, disability and vet payments. He is the devil in disguise ppl.

The United States of America is completely fucked up. Why give out money to individuals on a talk show?
