I told my doctor I need a diagnosis. Cost $700 of sessions, no reimbursements, and I couldn’t afford to stay long enough for her to decide on something (she didn’t have notes and I think she kept forgetting my background). Now I really can’t afford it.

“Which is why people adore you so much” wait they do? I’ve never heard anything positive about her.

Diagnosed with “high functioning autism spectrum disorder”.
Let me break this down to you with my own story:
My son was diagnosed with the same “disorder” by…….. his preschool speech pathologist!!!!!! Yeah, apparently they can act as clinical doctors now, so they dive their hands into your health insurance.
So…me being me, I decided to take my son to a person with a license to practice neurological medicine. A neurologist!!!!
Not only A neurologist, but the head of Boston Children’s pediatric neurology department, also instructor at Harvard.
After a few laboratory/clinical analysis and hands on tests, she concluded that he is not autistic (in fact she said she predicted that prognosis within the 5 first minutes they met).
So…I proceeded to ask her the big ASD question: what about autism spectrum disorder?
Her answer: “Oh, I’m not qualified to diagnose that”.
CAN YOU GUESS WHAT THAT STATEMENT MEANS?
That Autism Spectrum Disorder has absolutely no clinical recognition and I find this epidemic of autism spectrum diagnosis demeaning and disrespectful
to people who actually struggle with autism.

I disagree with the “inability to lie.” I know for a fact that lying can become a real problem in some high functioning autistic people.

First time I’ve heard her sound sensible and relatable. I like who she’s become with him.
