People of color does not mean black people it does not mean African people it can mean Latinos Asians Indians anything that’s not white so I don’t agree when she say people of color she’s just as a people of African descent or black people because those other ethnicities do not support us just like the white Community does not support us

We really need to start sayingng black people or African people so that everyone knows we’re talking about our people people of color is all inclusive to all ethnicities that is not white and all other ethnicities do not care for black people just like most white people

So this movie came out in South Africa before America? was hoping Trevor would ask her about her name, get her to pronounce it. Come on Trevor you had to, it’s in your home language and she has no links to SA i know of

Honestly some mixed biracial Black people may talk about these issues as if they’re “woke” yet won’t bother to do the core inportant thing of dating/marrying another Black person to elevate/perpetuate Blackness, the Black family and Black love; they just assimilate and marry White or another non-Black thus erasing their Black ethnicity within the next generation. Kinda short sited and counter-productive.

I like that she said that she didn’t take a role in black panther to give dark skinned women a chance but her character was supposed to be dark skinned. I also love that she has braids. I see that a lot of mixed people get braids to play up their blackness. It’s definitely not bad that she is though.

the facts spoken in this interview are heavy . ? . so much intellect and passion ! I’ll never forget when the film was over , I went to the bathroom & a white woman who had just walked out of the theater with me went out if her way to hold the door for me … ? I think she felt bad .

Is it really necessary to see yourself as black vs. white when you have mixed ancestry? I mean, I am bicultural (not black/white),. My name is telling and I speak several languages. Also you can tell from my behavior, as the cultures are really different. People don’t know where to put me and I feel bad when either culture claims my belonging to it. I am an individual and I don’t feel endepted with neither of the cultures. Especially because I don’t feel like I am a minority, I feel privileged bc. of having had the opportunity to grow up bicultural and in different countries.
