I stopped watching fictional cop shows since I started watching the real cop videos on youtube.

I am disgusted by the reality of your police behaviour to the average citizen just going about their daily business.

Not that ours are great to “persons known to the police”. There are serious problems with the way they have been accused of obtaining confessions. And finally, one judge has shown the intention to address it by demanding evidence other than a confession.

But if you keep yourself “out of the vicinity” of known criminal hideouts and do not choose to closely associate with known criminals, you are not harrassed.

I do not fear our police. I have not had “The Talk” with my teenaged son. It never crossed my mind. It’s not a thing in my “shithole” country.

Just this week, my son saw somebodh get pulled over by police. When he passed the police car he noticed that their big guns had been left inside the vehicle. It was just a minor traffic offence, after all.

I have never felt any trepidation upon being stopped by our police and I have never been met with anything but politeness.

“they told us how to dress, what to wear, and what clothes to put on.”
