Bask in the moment as Stephen Colbert, after 15 long months spent broadcasting from places like his bathtub, his spare bedroom, and a storage closet, kicks off a new era of The Late Show by bringing it back where it belongs: on stage at the Ed Sullivan Theater in front of a loud, rowdy and fully-vaccinated studio audience. #Colbert #Comedy #Monologue
The opening was almost as good as the monologue… Stephen singing a duet with the crotch of his pants about how he has to put them back on now, it’s not virtual anymore!
ReplyI was clapping here at home when Evie came out. Will miss her!
ReplySee guys it still FUN with a studio audience…
ReplyI didn’t even watch the late show (or any of the late shows) until the pandemic and it quickly became a part of my daily ritual
ReplyAs someone who hopes to watch Stephen live, it was so great to see him back in his element after 15 long months. Just want to say Evie was an amazing member of the audience over the last 15 months.
ReplyThey cut off his initial entrance! Was hoping to see him first walking out
Replythis was a delight to watch!
ReplyI started watching and I thought this was way old monologue, although I knew he had returned to Ed Sullivan theatre… We have been conditioned! 🙂
ReplyHe’s so happy!!! I’m overjoyed for him xoxo
ReplyThe audience is ecstatic! Charming Evie is magic xoxo
My sincere thanks to the entire, ultra-talented Late Show family for getting us through the rough times.
Love, hope, and joy to everyone, everywhere xoxo
I’m so happy he’s back in The Ed Sullivan, he was so awkward at home!

ReplyGreat to have you back in the Ed Sullivan Stephen!
ReplyYou know Putin is lying when he says Trump is a talented individual, unless that talent is conning stupid people to vote for him.

Reply“Honey glazed himmler.” Brilliant.!
ReplyI am so glad Stephen Colbert is back live. When he came on stage I stood up for a standing ovation and I cried with joy. This covid-19 crap is almost over. Thank you Stephen, John, & Evie. The future is so bright, we got to wear shades.
