In part two of the interview, director and author Quentin Tarantino joins our host in showering praise on the John Carpenter film, “The Thing,” a movie Tarantino says influenced many of his own works including, “The Hateful 8.” Tarantino’s new novel, based on his film “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” is available now. #Colbert #OnceUponATimeInHollywood #QuentinTarantino
Yup, just another book promotion.
ReplyI agree 100% with you on why to GO to see a movie in a theater, but you are missing one thing. Everyone is selfish, disrespectful A-holes who ruin EVERY movie with their phones.
ReplyI agree.
ReplyThis is the best Quentin Tarantino interview I’ve ever seen.
Reply2:11 Following you, go wherewer and do whatever all good.
ReplyHaving recently watched “The Thing,” i cant believe this movie was lambasted by critics when it came out
ReplyI’m just like Quentin when it comes to not being scared of horror movies but I was definitely scared watching the Thing for the first time. My brother is five years older than me so my dad let him watch horror movies when I was just four or five. But I tried sneaking downstairs to watch the Exorcist with them and I got scared shitless. It was at the part when she sends the furniture after her mother. I remember seeing her on that bed and the big dresser attacking her mother and I ran back to my room. As punishment or probably just for laughs my father decided that if I wanted to watch a horror movie or any movie for that matter it would be fine with him but I couldn’t come crying to him if I had nightmares. So the first movie I got to see was The Thing, my father loves it and he figured it would scare me so bad that I’d never ask to watch a movie again. He was almost right, it scared the shit out of me but it turned me into a movie lover.
ReplyLOL. I love Carpenter’s The Thing as well. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen it. Best line: “You gotta be fuckin’ kidding.”
Reply3:47…….who can make out watching a movie on their phone / Rocky Horror Picture Show / where are you going to take students to watch historical movies if your school doesn’t have the facilities to show them inhouse / all the jobs it creates?
ReplyNow that was a wonderful segment! More thoughtful and deep moments like that please!
ReplyJohn Carpenter’s The Thing has been my favorite horror movie since its release.
ReplyI love it.
It was terrifying movie upon its initial release and I have watched it in every format possible since 1982.
I thoroughly enjoy all who give their analysis of this modern day classic.
Every time you get into a conversation with someone who loves The Thing you know you have to ask them for their take on the ending, including the breath debate.
Reply“Memories that ive seen on TV for moist of my life” lol youtube subs got jokes
ReplyDo not like Tarantino, never have
ReplyDamn, that’s one of my all-time favorite flicks as well. Snuck into it as a 13 year old, back when you could still do that, and it blew my mind. A stone-cold classic, regardless of genre. It’s my happy place too, just so fuckin’ good. Props to Carpenter. Cheers!
ReplyHahaha, I was the head protectionist for over half a decade. Fuck the movie industry. I sold tickets at $2 15 years ago, and I recently paid $20. They are greedy monster in Hollywood, and I hope they fail.
ReplyThe original ‘The Thing’ was filled with dialogue over and over with each actor, and it was PERFECT! I have NEVER EVER seen it since…..it was SO perfectly natural!
ReplyYou underestimate the quality of home theaters nowadays comrade. its VERY rare, even first day, that I’ve heard crowd reactions in a movie theater. Avatar, i THINK saw 3 and endgame. My 70inch 4k hdr screen and atmos surround with 6 15”s is a much better experience than most theaters. You just need friends to enjoy your media!
ReplyGREAT movie
